Before we talk about Pinterest marketing strategy, let’s talk about what is Pinterest first. Pinterest is a search engine. It’s meant for discovery. This is where people go to find solutions, ideas and inspiration.
The internet is swarming with new content each and everyday.
Think of Pinterest as “the best of the best on the internet.” It’s a way for users to bookmark what they’ve found to be helpful.
What does this mean for you as an entrepreneur or marketer?
If they pin your content, you are gaining credibility and authority which will strengthen your marketing strategy. Word-of-mouth advertising will always be
effective! If someone is pinning your content, they’re endorsing you so their friends, family and followers can discover you as well. You are increasing your total exposure. Pinterest is the perfect way to drive traffic to your site in order to generate more leads and business.
One way to get the ball rolling is to make sure that YOU are pinning your content.
Currently, I average over 4 million monthly viewers per month on Pinterest with close to a 9% engagement rate! I’ve used Pinterest to drive traffic to my blog, e-commerce site, appointment booking sites, lead capture pages and even Youtube videos. The possibilities really are endless. If you’re thinking you don’t have time to learn about another social media site, trust me, I was just like you but this is where Pinterest has proven to be worth it many times over!
Facebook groups can be a great way to build a sense of community. When you have community, people are more likely to share goals as well as issues they may be facing because they TRUST you in this private place.

👁 A pinned post so all new members see it as soon as they join 👁 Educational video – most people value knowledge especially when you’re solving issue 👁 Call-to-action (this is how you convert friends, followers and group members — turn those likes/views into paying customers)
You’ll also see the URL to one of my digital business cards 👀. This card is set-up so that they have to give contact info which helps me build relationships later (especially if they don’t purchase at first).
The incentive for giving contact info is a discount on their order. I don’t give the discount freely so this is an added bonus. 👸🏽
Remember, most people want to know the answer to this question: what’s in it for me🤔?
Before you (the entrepreneur) ask for something, you have to give something.
I gave value first by educating (one of the 3Es).
Remember, don’t be afraid to actually reach out to group members to introduce yourself and let them know you’re available to address specific concerns 💡
Expert tip: using Facebook tool, I have questionnaire for anyone requesting to join group. I like to include spot for email or contact information. I’ve had several Facebook folks lose their accounts but they’re customers. Good thing I don’t need to search for them again.
Part of building your personal brand is showing you — your person 🙀
People buy from people who they feel connected to in some way so showing you and NOT hiding behind a logo or company photo is crucial.
Consistency is key. You MUST show up constantly for your audience 🗝

My Personal Branding Challenge:
Working from home, I don’t get dressed up as often as I should 😔 (I’m on a personal mission to dress up more often even if I don’t need to leave the house).
Naturally, I don’t have a “good” or different picture of me to post each day.
Being in the beauty/health industry 💄, it’s important that I showcase our products or at least the quality of our products.
Today: I created a month’s worth of photos and have stored them for future use.📆
Meal-Prep Hack 🍓:
✔️ On your “good” photo day, take multiple good photos — don’t stop when you get that one GOOD photo (ladies, you know what I mean)
✔️ Using your content calendar, plan to share one of those good photos at least once per week (your audience should see you enough to at least be able to identify you — have a strategy and aim for one photo per week)
✔️ Use a social media post scheduler (shared these tools in Facebook group; Facebook has its own scheduler)
You can use this for any product-based industry:
💍 jewelry and accessories industry: take photos wearing each piece. Got 10 pieces? Get 10 good pictures and schedule them out. You don’t have to upload them all at once.
🏋️🏽 health and wellness: take photos of you exercising, pre- and post-workout photos, show your before and after, a picture of you drinking shake/supplements, etc. Got dramatic results? Take photos in clothing that shows the difference or at least make it evident that you’ve lost weight or toned up.
👗 fashion: take pictures with multiple poses and wearing multiple clothing pieces. Only post one piece at a time. Unless you have a LARGE inventory, you do not need to upload an entire gallery of photos. One picture or two or three pictures showcasing the same item from different angles is fine.
👩🏽🎓 Personal branding: if you’re not showcasing a certain product, you can use the different photos to make a different statement (think about the 3 Es: empower, educate and entertain)
The picture included in this blog will be posted later. Yes, you just got the sneak peek😂 I have an “empowering” statement to make with it. With the other three photos, I have one for education (giving tip), entertaining (telling a beauty-related story) and then I’ll have my one BUSINESS post (hard-selling, curiosity, etc).
Don’t be afraid to recycle, reuse or repurpose your old photos. Even a simple “throwback” picture from a month ago will help.
You took those pictures. Make them work FOR YOU!

If you are a sales professional, realtor, small business owner or aspiring entrepreneur, you know the importance of networking. Networking can help build a constant stream of business as well as develop a network of referrals for future endeavors.
Every professional should be networking. When I set out on my professional journey, I did just that — I headed over to EventBrite, MeetUp and Facebook to learn about the different networking events to attend.
I’d go to the networking events with the goal of handing out as many business cards as possible. After a few years, I learned about digital business cards and it intrigued me. Cards could be ready within minutes, you could update info within minutes and you’d never run out of cards.
I’ve been using digital business cards for a while now but I recently discovered a new service called Shuffle by Elify.
A little history about me and my challenges with networking:
Prior to using digital business cards, I was networking all wrong. Forget the fact that almost 90% of business cards are tossed within one week of receiving them.
No, that wasn’t my struggle.
I became too reliant on the paper business card.
At networking events, I’d hand over a card and try my hardest to get away as soon as I could.
What was the result? Nothing. None of my previous networking events proved to be successful. Why? I wasn’t leaving a memorable or lasting impression. People couldn’t get to know me; therefore, my card became one of the many tossed in the trash. No real relationships ever formed. Haven’t learned from my mistake, I’d attend another networking event and do the exact same thing. No connections. Wasted time and business cards.
Then there would be the awkward times where I met someone in passing. We talked, felt like there was rapport and I’d hand my business card. Suddenly the mood darkened. It wasn’t a natural progression. Maybe I looked awkward handing it to them but regardless, I never got a call back.
About a year ago, I attended lunch with a realtor, event planner and mortgage officer. Everything was going well. We hit it off. Shared learning experiences. Laughed and even talked about meeting in the future. As soon as we ended lunch, we all exchanged business cards and it just felt so impersonal and cold. Needless to say, we never followed up on our future plans.
I tried all kinds of “creative” ways to get someone to keep my card such as first time customer discount, changing colors to be more bold and even putting my face on the card.
After THOUSANDS of cards stuck in boxes, many were useless as contact information had changed, I decided to try digital business cards.
What happened after switching over to the digital business card?
At first, it pushed me so far outside of my comfort zone, I wanted to crawl in a dark hole and never return. My business wasn’t where I needed it to be so I knew that I had to network. This was an all or nothing decision. I personally challenged myself because that’s just how bad I wanted it.
I actually had to speak to people! No more relying on the physical card as a crutch.
Not only did my conversations become better but they became more effective. Speaking to people allowed me to see if we could truly benefit from connecting. When I was networking before, I handed my business card to anyone willing to accept — without knowing if there was a mutual benefit or if we were even in the same industry!
Over time, I became better at impromptu conversations and developing rapport — learning and listening for cues about potential networking opportunities that could be mutually beneficial. It didn’t matter where I was — grocery store, airport, or networking event.
With this new application, it’s customizable but it’s more than just a mobile landing page. Not only can I include pictures and videos to showcase my work but I can send a card, see when they’ve opened, which of my sites they visited and even schedule follow ups! You can include a lead capture form so visitors can leave their contact info and also the option for them to share your digital business card with others.
It’s like the perfect CRM created for your cell phone.
I’ve become a networking on-the-go pro!
Even when I’m not attending networking events, I meet pretty amazing people in my daily routines. Naturally, some situations are so spontaneous that carrying business cards wouldn’t be possible anyway.
For example, last week, I went to the gym. As soon as I walked in and while she was heading off, I bumped into an entrepreneur. I knew that I wanted to connect with her later. She tried to hand me her business card but I was at the gym. I only had my cell phone, keys and headphones. Guess what I did? Yep! I sent her my digital business card.
Current results: everyone that I personally connect with receives my digital business card. The conversations flow more naturally. Because I’ve learned to become more personable, the conversations feel more personal. Therefore, they usually don’t hesitate when I ask for their phone number. Then, I send my digital business card directly to their phone. We now have each other’s number and I can send a quick text.
Potential clients are able to go directly to my online booking site and because everything is in one location, I don’t have to send link to website, link to private Facebook community and links to my social media accounts. Everything is in one place.
I’ve gained a steady source of paying clients and referrals.
There’s the Discover feature which allows you to connect with other users in the app. You can send private message, exchange business cards, schedule follow ups and even send attachments such as documents, audio files and more.

Are you looking to network more effectively and create lasting impressions?
3 Types of Posts to Generate Interest and Lead to Sales These posts will help you build relationships with people and converse via private message so you can close the sale.
AVOID POSTING “BUY FROM ME”, “SHOP MY ONLINE STORE”, OR “JOIN MY TEAM” with your website link added. Here are two reasons why you should not but trust me, I can go on about this:
No one wants to do that. They’re biggest concern is what’s in it for them, not what’s in it for you. Relate to them and show them you aren’t just trying to make a sale off them. If they buy, GREAT! But if not, it’s ok — still treat them as humans and allow them an out. If you are only posting about making money off them, they’re more likely to ignore you. Remember to post using the 3 E’s (Entertain, Educate, Empower) and then add in the business post.
You will lose control. You will not know who is interested and therefore, you will have no way to follow up with them. They’ll go to your website and leave or worse, join someone else. Think: if you are in direct sales, it’s easier to remember the company’s website than your replicated URL which is longer OR they may find someone more popular/successful than you.
Below, I list examples of business posts:
1. Curiosity post – pique their interest with a desired result — think, what would make them say “how” or “what is it”or “tell me more” or my favorite response is “send me the deets”
“I can’t believe this stuff really works. I have so much energy!”
“OMG, this new highlighter is the bomb!”
“Wow! My skin feels so soft!”
2. Story post
Testimonial outlining either your story, customer’s story or team member’s story and how our business or product helped — usually somewhat lengthy as you want them to identify and “feel” the emotion behind the post (think about my post talking about my sister’s acne)
b. Before/after picture — could be showing how the skincare products cleared up your skin, power of makeup, slimmer figure, how necklace transforms outfit, etc
3. Helpful tip – establishes you as an authority which builds trust; feel free to mix it up between posting helpful tip and posting helpful tip with hint to your recommendation
“Seriously, the best way to make your eyeshadow lasts all day is to use an eyeshadow primer. It makes your eyeshadow last longer and the colors POP! If you have oily skin, make sure to use an oil-free primer. I’ve been using this primer for years and my eyeshadow has never looked better!”

Any tip that will be helpful to your audience *bonus if it’s related to your brand*
*Engagement post —- ask for your audience’s feedback: Use this sparingly and make sure it’s related to your business! None of the “help me solve an argument in my house, do you prefer Ketchup or BBQ sauce?” — don’t you dare post that or anything similar! It’s completely irrelevant and will not do anything for your business. *
Tip 1: Make sure it’s relevant to your business or brand
Tip 2: Don’t overdo it —- don’t ask this question everyday.
Tip 3: Try using personal photos. It’s ok if you don’t have them but if you do, post them!

“We’re heading out for dinner. Help me decide: should I wear this dress or the other?” — helps show off fashion

Now that you have your business post, you want to actually generate leads. This is why we remove company branding and only brand ourselves. If people are interested, you will know. Whereas if you leave company name or website, you’ve lost all control.
You’re looking for ways to generate leads online. You’ve been posting your link several times until you’re blue in the face and yet, no one is biting except the pity sales. Eventually, you’re looking to grow your business and you know that’s not going to cut it. Trust me, been there before — hated it. I’m going to show you how I just received 78 leads from one Facebook post so stay tuned if you’re interested in learning how to generate leads online.
When posting, remember the 80/20. Only 20% of posts should be related to the business. The majority (80%) should be to either Entertain, Educate, or Empower others. If your posts are negative, remove them. It will help draw more people to you. With a little thought and preparation, following this method will help you grow your business online in no time. Keep in mind, you must remain consistent with not only posting but with your personal brand. If it doesn’t go with your brand, do not post it. It will be counterproductive and people won’t know what to expect from your profile/page.
People are creatures of habit. In order for them to know/like/trust you, you have to get them into the routine so they know what to expect. Unfortunately, one too many negative or pity party type of posts will put them in that mindset and they may never take your business seriously. That was one of the very first and toughest lessons I had to learn. Now that I’ve given my profile and page makeovers, I generate leads regularly and many times without even trying!
How I Got Almost 80 Customer Leads from One Facebook Post
• 59 on personal profile, 19 on business page (copied post from personal and posted to business page)
Note: this post occurred on Saturday, I anticipate the number growing as my audience tends to engage during the work week. Therefore, I see more people interacting on either Monday or Tuesday. If not, no biggie as I’m content with these results but I suggest keeping sales/business posts during the week (preferably Friday when people get paid).
Steps to generate leads online and turn likes into $$$:
2. Targeted my message – using Friends List, I selected my list called Potential Recruits. With the exception of my team, there are no other company reps on this list. I’m not trying to sell/share/promote to people in the same company. I also don’t want to bother people I know who will never purchase or refer customers (i.e. my 83 year old aunt who has 3 Facebook accounts because she can’t remember the passwords)
3. Posted my message and watched the engagement grow!
Well, I have LEADS — people who have engaged with the post. I’ve piqued their interest in this digital world and can talk to them about my business.
In case you’re wondering, yes, this has resulted in new customers and business partners for me. This has been more effective than posting my link when no one asked. Think about when someone gives you weird info that you didn’t ask for — how did it make you feel? Did you easily dismiss it? If so, you’re not the only one.

My advice to you:
Be prepared: some people will automatically ask for info in the comment section on the post, some may even proactively reach out via messenger.
What should you do:
Now that you have leads, don’t just sit on them. Reach out to them! Interact with their posts. Message them! Thank them for showing love/support/liking the post. Ask if they need any help with whatever your post mentioned or if they’d like to learn more. Then, offer to send your website. If they don’t respond, don’t send it. Some people aren’t active on messenger so it could be a waste but also you don’t want to look like you’re just in it for the money. Connect with them. Be a real person.
Don’t be afraid. You know they see something they like, hence the reason why they reacted to the post. Extend your hand to be of service. Think about when you go to the mall, window shopping and a nice sales associate approaches you. Bright eyes, smile as wide as the Atlantic Ocean but they seem genuine. You usually give them a chance, don’t you? Or have you ever stood there waiting for someone to approach you so they can answer your questions?
Put yourself in the associate’s shoes. Make sure that you are answering them in a timely fashion. For those who comment on the post, tell them you’ll reach out in messenger. For those who message you, respond!
We are doing the same thing (with a little bit more of a personal touch). We’re giving people info on what has worked for us, how it’s helped, tips to make it more effective, what has us excited, or how it’s changed us in some way.
Tips to make this effective:
Keep it personal. Yes, this requires some vulnerability but you determine the level. Personal stories help people relate to you but you don’t have to tell them EVERYTHING that happened to you since you were 12 years old.
Don’t sound like you’re writing a sales commercial. Facts tell, stories sell. No one cares that 99% of women saw improvement. They care about the one woman who is talking to them — YOU.
Using either curiosity posts or storytelling posts, omitting company’s name and product name puts YOU in control. People have to ask you for more info meaning you know who is interested. Leaving just your link causes you to lose control as you don’t know who is interested.
Do NOT focus on just friends/family. They’ll disappoint you every time. Well maybe not but if you’re looking to grow your business and have people purchasing from you consistently, you need more than your mom and aunt. Go out and find new friends using networking events, online events, Facebook groups, relevant business pages, hashtags and other social media. Go where your ideal customer or team member can be found. Don’t know where to find them? Look for where you can find you! My Point: connect with like-minded individuals — it’s usually easier to deliver message as you don’t have to convince them, they kinda already trust you. If you love makeup, join makeup groups. Find your personal interests, post in the group and make new friends.
Do not post too much where your posts are competing with each other for visibility on the newsfeed. Do not post every hour.
Ask question at the end of the post that would make someone want to engage. Not needed but some people see questions and feel compelled to answer. More answers equal higher engagement which equals more eyes on your post.

This is an advanced technique that will allow my business to run while I’m asleep and help me generate leads online. As this is a fairly successful post, I’m going to create a blog using this post. With some SEO techniques (actual video to walk through it), I’ll have it so people searching for makeup will stumble upon my blog. My blog will generate leads and do the selling for me as if on autopilot.

My blog brings in daily traffic. As I’ve said, this is bit advanced but just a little taste of my world.
I suggest building up your customer base first before focusing on blogging, Youtube videos and SEO. Eventually, you want your business to run on autopilot BUT you need to put in the legwork first. Get to a point where you’re comfortable with the amount of money you’re making and can invest in a blog as well as Facebook advertising (if you choose).
As a result, using the techniques above will help you get to that point where you’re turning profit. It’s free but does require time. Then, you can invest in your business IF you want to run it like a business and not a hobby.
Remember this: having a business will cost you time, money or both. It is a compromise. At first, you put in the time. Then, you step back but only when you’ve invested in systems that will allow it to continue to run. If you never invest with money, you’ll be working all the time. If you never invest in the time, you’ll be spending more money to build your brand and reputation.

Facebook isn’t all drama and chaos. It can really be a wonderful tool for your business whether you are a social media influencer, small business owner, entrepreneur or aspiring entrepreneur. Facebook is the LARGEST social site out there. With so many people, it’s hard to keep track UNLESS you use Facebook Lists.
I am a BIG fan of Facebook Lists. Though I do have a business page, I do not have a VIP customer group BECAUSE I utilize Facebook Lists. My two personal challenges: horrible memory and I’m a bit of an introvert. I don’t like being pushy either.
Once I learned about and implemented the lists, I noticed not only were more of my friends requests accepted but I also received more friend requests and higher engagement and conversions on my posts.
Benefits of using Facebook Lists:
More effective marketing and communication (you’re only speaking to those who are interested):
Control who sees each posts (public, friends and lists)
No more bugging family members
Not annoying like unsolicited Facebook group “invites”
Less intimidating than asking new friend if they’d be interested in joining
Educate/entertain certain groups
Keep in touch
Build relationships with new friends
No competing with business pages or groups
Could be less time consuming than managing a group
Where to Find Facebook Lists
If you are using a computer or PC, you can find Facebook Lists by following these steps:
When you are visiting someone’s profile, you’ll have four options near their name: Friends, Following, Message and More Options (3 dots).
Click of Friends and you’ll see a drop down including Close Friends, Acquaintances, Add to another list, Suggest Friends or Unfriend.
Next “Add to another list.”
Then “New List” to create your own. You can title it whatever you want. Friends do not see the name of the custom list.
Once you have created a new Friend List, you can view posts specifically from friends on that list. Follow these steps to see the list:
After you log-in to Facebook, from the main page, look down at the left-hand side of the screen.
Under the Explore section, click on Friend List
Select the desired list and you will only see posts from those on this list.
Note: as you see, there is an option to create more lists even if you are not on the friend’s profile.
Yes, you can still use this feature on your mobile device.
How to Find Lists on Mobile:
Go to the person’s profile.
You’ll see the option to click on Friends, Following, Message or More Options (like desktop mode).
Click on Friends.
Next, click on Edit Friend List to add the friend to a specific listNote: creating a new List is not an option at this stage in the mobile application.
How to View the Newsfeed for Each List in Mobile Application
Click the three horizontal bars in the application for the Menu
Scroll down until you see Feeds.
Depending on your lists, you may be able to see the one at the top. If not, click “See All.”
Final words: Now that you have your lists set up, speak to each audience individually. Tailor your messages appropriately. Don’t post a bunch of spam regardless of the lists. Remember, add a call-to-action if you’d like them to take an additional such as ‘liking’ your business page or join your Facebook group.

Let’s face it. Social media is one of the most cost-effective ways to build your brand or business online. I focus primarily on Facebook but these tips can be applied to most social media accounts.
It’s less expensive than radio, television and billboard advertisements but even more effective. Think about it, when most consumers hear a commercial they either listen, mute or turn to another station to avoid it. What do you do when you hear the commercial? Are you eager to hear it? Probably not and that accounts for most consumers.
However, most people check at least one social media account everyday with their undivided attention.Then there are people like me who are practically glued to their cell phones —- checking Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn while commuting to work, at work, eating dinner or even sitting down to watch a movie.
As such, some entrepreneurs have either switched to social media to save or grow their businesses online. Social media can be a wonderful addition to your current marketing strategy.
Yes, social media, used properly, can help local businesses and entrepreneurs reach not just local customers, but national and even international customers!
Who doesn’t want to put new eyes on their business, right?
So what happens when most new entrepreneurs or soon-to-be entrepreneurs step into the online world of social media marketing or social selling?
If they don’t have a social media strategy, oftentimes, they fail.
It’s not as easy as maxing out your friend’s list or connections. This is one of the BIGGEST mistakes made. An audience with no target is the same as no audience. The focus should always be QUALITY over QUANTITY.
Now let’s get into why you aren’t getting any engagement on your posts.
You ARE active on social media, meaning you interact with other’s content and reply to comments left on your content
You have a good-sized audience of at least 500 friends/fans/connections/followers
If you have 5,000 friends/followers/fans/connections but struggling to get 5 “likes”, there is a HUGE disconnect here and you should pay extreme attention to what I’m about to say.
Most accounts lack engagement because of two factors:
Target audience unknown
Lack content marketing strategy to engage target market
Top three reasons why you aren’t getting any engagement on Facebook:
No longer on social media
Switched social media platforms
Have another social media account
Doesn’t check social media regularly
Didn’t branch out to find new following
Added random followers
Not creating any content specific to target audience needs
Not sharing relevant content
Too many cute cat videos
Too many recipes
Content not consistent with brand
Tying back into the comment earlier about lacking a social media strategy. Each social media platform is different but a general rule of thumb is that you should be engaging with your audience at least ONCE per day.
If you cannot commit to once per day, but looking to grow your business using social media, consider hiring an outside firm to manage your social media accounts.
What can you do to improve your engagement?
First thing is to review your profile to determine if you are repelling potential clients/customers.
Clean up any negative items.
Get rid of dead audience – this may take some time
Install a Chrome extension that analyzes your social media account and suggests friends to remove – this is usually done by seeing who is the least active connection
Go through your friends list/contacts and remove if:
You’ve reached out to them and they don’t respond
You can’t connect with their content
They’re too negative
Determine how you want to brand yourself
Only post content consistent with your brand
NOTE: if you have relevant content and a good audience but still lack engagement, look at the times that you are posting. Studies show that posts over the weekend and during the hours of 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. receive more views and shares.

How to Use New Lists Feature for Your Business and Personal Brand

So today, we have a little Facebook tip. It’s actually a new feature that they just rolled out. Personally, I noticed it last night (2/15/18). I think they rolled it out about two or three days ago. And of course, people are like “oh my goodness! Another way for Facebook to be intrusive.”
However, if you are using Facebook to build a business or a personal brand, I think that this could be genius! So the new feature is called Facebook List.
How to Find It
Now, this should not be confused with your friends list or even that list inside of your friends list. This is completely different.
So let’s talk about how to find it.
If you are creating a new post, it says “what’s on your mind” — click that box.
Note: Now one thing that I have noticed is that depending on the mobile device, you may not have it. However, it is on the web. If you are using a computer/tablet, you should be able to find it. They are rolling it out slowly. I noticed that I’ve been able to use or create a list on my personal profile as well as my fan page. But I have not been able to do so in a group so I don’t know if it’s going to roll out to groups or not.
If you do have access to this new feature, I highly suggest that you use it.
Click the “what’s on your mind” as if you were creating a new post. You should see the drop down like you’ve been seeing lately with options such as “how are you feeling/ activity/sticker” or if you want to go live or create a background color.
Scroll down and you’ll see list. Now that’s right below the new feature of tag event. We’ll cover that in another post.
New Facebook Feature “List” Explained
Once you click to create a list, it’s going to give you sample lists that you can use. The idea is to make things a little bit more personal and help your friends, family and new friends get to know you a little bit better. So some common examples that they use here are:
things most people don’t know about me
reasons I love my friends
friends who can always make me laugh
my biggest pet peeves
my plans for the weekend
what I love about my best friend
items I never leave home without
moments I wish I could relive
places I want to travel
I believe there’s a long list.
You are looking at my screen shot so it will probably change over the course of time.
This is a great way for your friends and family to get to know you. Yes and it may seem a little bit intrusive; however, one of the complaints that I’ve heard about Facebook is the fact that it has become so antisocial — which is crazy for a social media platform, right?
But some people really don’t know who their friends are and a lot of it has to do with the common advertisements from businesses or people that have small home based businesses. It just seems like one ad after the next and there is really no connection there between friends.
This new tool —List— can help people get to know you better. Now if you’re thinking to yourself: “I am not about to open up and share my deepest, darkest secrets.” That is great! I am not advising that you do that!
How to Use Facebook Lists for Your Business
When I first noticed this feature yesterday, it said “little things that make me smile.”
Now you know I love makeup and skincare. When I tested it out, the first thing that I put was all about makeup such as when I don’t stab myself applying eyeliner, when my eyebrows look more like sisters (all makeup humor). It’s about my personal brand —being in the cosmetics industry.
Here is how you can actually use it for your business:
If you look again, at the top of the Create List feature, you’ll see that it says “create a list with your own title.”
You can use this regardless of the industry that you are in.
If you are in event planning, you can make up a little list of things that you’ve noticed that can make an event more successful or things to look for when you are looking for an event planner.
If you are in real estate, you can start giving tips about how to pick the perfect home, how to make your home winter ready or how to prepare it for the summer.
If you are in skincare, you can give quick skincare tips.
I personally love this feature!
I included a personal example that I used and of course, it has a call-to-action to bring them back to my blog.
The list was about how to make your eye shadow pop.
The reason why I love this is because one way to stand out when you’re creating your personal brand is to create value.
Now the thing is with Facebook or any social media, people like quick reads.
Of course, sometimes when you give out value, it can get very lengthy but a short list or checklist is so much easier and quicker to read BUT it could also be very action-packed.
It can also open up the doors to establish you as an authority in your field and have people reaching out to you for your assistance.
You don’t have to use it on a personal note and open up about your deepest darkest secrets but you can use this to build your personal brand, establish yourself as an authority and provide valuable content to your target market.
